The Clark AT5000 drill rig was developed in 2002. It was the first drill rig built by Clarks from the ground up and was quickly proven as a versatile machine for drilling in any direction. It also gained a reputation for being a robust, durableĀ and cost effective machine for operators with smaller budgets. Clarks were the first to develop the hydraulic rotation for the mast in every direction on this model. The AT5000 is primarily an air powered machine, the drill, feed and tram motors are all air powered. An air over hydraulic power pack is used to power the boom and rod clamp only. At 1.2m wide the rig is able to fit between the rib and conveyor in narrow roadways. As it has been designed and built in Australia to meet MDG35 and 41 guidelines the AT5000 has been utilized in both the coal and civil engineering sectors in Australia and New Zealand.
